The “Gacher Blick” viewing platform lies just a few metres from the mountain station and the Wendelsteinhaus restaurant. The viewing platform totally justifies its name: the word “gach” is a Bavarian word meaning something like “serious, precipitous, steep”.
Nowhere else can you discern and puzzle over the 200 or so mountain ranges and summits in front of you – as the solution to the puzzle is provided for you!

The view continues over the Zillertal Alps, the majestic peak of the Rofan on to the Karwendel and Wetterstein ranges including Germany’s highest massif, the Zugspitze.
